Give Them a Second Chance at a First Home.
Mila was found on the street, terrified and defenseless. A small group nearby had begun throwing stones at her, driven by harmful superstition and the stigma too often placed on cats in parts of Africa.
By chance, we were there. We stepped in, stopped the abuse, and brought her to safety.
Today, Mila is healing. She is learning that not all humans bring harm—that some bring care, comfort, and hope.
But there are many more cats like Mila who are not as lucky. They are still out there, facing fear, neglect, and cruelty every day.
Together, you and I can change that. Your support helps us reach them in time, give them protection, and offer the life they deserve.
MISSION
Our mission is to protect, heal, and uplift dogs in need across Africa by providing rescue, veterinary care, safe shelter, and pathways to adoption, while empowering communities with the knowledge and tools to care for their animals responsibly.
VISION
Our vision is an Africa where every dog is safe, healthy, and cherished as part of the family and the community. We are working towards a future in which strong local networks—foundations, shelters, vets, and volunteers—collaborate across borders to end the cycle of suffering for dogs.

Voices for Vulnerable Dogs Across Africa.
Best friends is a nonprofit Organisation dedicated to protecting vulnerable dogs and cats across African communities, from busy city streets to rural villages. We focus on rescue, rehabilitation, and responsible rehoming, while building local capacity through education and community partnerships.
